Drywall nails are no longer as magical and tall as they used to be in our daily lives.
Drywall nails are no longer as magical and tall as they used to be in our daily lives. In the past, they were only used in high-end residences and engineering construction, but now they are also one of the most commonly used building materials, such as when we need to fix some items in our daily lives. Before fixing items, we don't have the habit of pre-drilling holes. Therefore, when we purchase drywall nails, we require that the material of the drywall nails must be of good quality, and the production requirements for product specifications are also very strict. Now let's introduce how to select the right drywall nails:
First, the top of the drywall screw is round, which is also a domestic standard requirement for round-head screws.
Among the drywall nails we usually see, not all nail heads are round. Some manufacturers may produce drywall nails with heads that are not very round, and some are even slightly square. The consequence of this is that it cannot be fully matched with the gypsum board after being screwed in. Concentric circles rotate around a central point. The design method in this way is mainly scientific and reasonable. It is more conducive to improving work efficiency.
Second, the head of the drywall nail should be pointed.
When penetrating relatively hard objects, if we do not drill holes in advance and directly screw them in, the quality of the sharp corners of the drywall nails must be good, generally required to be between 23 and 27 degrees. The heads of the drywall nails should be full and there should be no dragged threads or cracks. Especially when used on light steel keels, if poor-quality pointed ends are used, it will lead to unusability, seriously affecting work efficiency and safety. According to national standards, wall panel nails should be able to drill through a 6mm iron plate within one second.
Thirdly, the drywall nails must not be eccentric.
The simplest way to determine if a drywall stud is eccentric is to place it with the round head facing down on the table and check if the threaded part is vertical and in the middle of the head. Once eccentric, when using an electric tool to screw in, it will cause the tool to shake, and in severe cases, it may damage the material being screwed in.
